Auto Archive does not work

Hello,

in Tools/Options/Other/Auto Archive I have configured to run Auto Archive
every 14 days to archive all mails older than 6 month.

I have a folder for Junk-Email (>100/day) which I don't want to archive. I
selected Properties/Auto Archive of this Folder and configured there to
delete permanently all emails older than 1 month. This does not work. I
still have emails in my Junk folder more than 2 or 3 month old.

I was a little bit surprised about the possibility to configure auto archive
at two different places. How can I get the second one to work?

Regards
Frank

Pardon me for asking, but why are you keeping Junk Mail more than one day or
a few hours) anyway? Right click the folder and select "empty junk mail
folder".

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
