attachments are in the body of email, not on line above the body

My attachments are, for some unknown reason, being
inserted automatically in the body of the email text, and
not on the line above the body. They are often
unreadable - even with scanned virus free files, by
recepients.
How do I return it to default placement of attachments?

Use either plain text or HTML to send your messages, not rich text format.

Outlook Rich Text Format = attachment inserted in the message after your
insertion point.
HTML = attachment inserted below subject line in message header.
Plain Text = attachment inserted in window beneath your message body.

Outlook Rich Text can only be read by other Outlook users and Eudora users.
Use Plain or HTML text for sending to non-Outlook users.
