ATI Drivers or Drivers from Manufacturers

Hi,

I have just purchased a Connect3D Radeon 9550 card and rather than use
the drivers from Connect3D I decided to use the official catalyst
drivers from the ATI site.

What are people's experiences with manufacturer drivers versus official
catalysts? Any significant performance gains/losses?

The manufacturer drivers consist almost entirely of rebadged ATi drivers, if
they even bother to rebadge them.
