ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe: support for P4/3.4GHz

Anyone using the 3.4Ghz with this motherboard? If so, what BIOS revision is
required?

This board has supported all the 2.6C + Processors since day 1 (all bios
revisions)
It was the lesser celerons and a few of the lowers C class that were added
in bios revision 1010.

How is it people can 'choose' a motherboard, and not even go look at the
manufacturers site?
Asus lists all CPU's supported by all their motherboards, just look for it.

Prior to posting my question I did check their site, and found that it
references CPU speeds up through 3.2MHz. I thought perhaps someone
participating in this newsgroup has actually used the new 3.4GHz CPU, and
could therefore give me a definitive answer to a question not directly
addressed on the ASUS web site. I am currently running a 1.6BHz P4.

Given that the 3.4 is the same type of chip as the existing northwoods, I
dont think there would be any trouble.
Also given the probably very very few 3.4G chips to hit the retail market so
far, I dont think many here would
have them yet.

I would be more concerned about its compatibility with say the 3.2EE and how
it handles the higher Cache and
such.

I currently run a 3.0 on this board, with no problems, I dont forsee any
problems with a 3.4 (running bios 1014)

I may be wrong but I think it will support any intel desktop processor up to
3.6 Ghz

Just checked the site and the 3.2EE is now listed as working with this
board.

The Extreme Edition costs vastly more than the standard edition. Is the
additional performance sufficient to justify the added price?

One day the price will drop and it would nice to have support in the
motherboard for that cheap upgrade.
