Ashampoo with spyware?

P

Pedro

Has anyone experienced a spyware problem with Ashampoo
products?... I read a comment that said some Ashampoo
software include spyware, yesterday I was installing a program
and UIwatcher included in Ashampoo UnInstaller Suite [which
I have bought], was detected by Spybot as spyware said it was
executing malignant code, UIwatcher keeps watch for programs
that are being installed and makes an install log for future uninstallation
of the program. Could the log being writen have been detected as
malignant code by Spybot?.. could it be the case it's being mistaken
for spyware?.... if multiple scans [with updated spybot and ad-aware6]
dont reveal UIwatcher as spyware, why would it be ID'd as a parasite only
whenit is writing a log?....
I will appreciate your comments..

What is malignant code?........

Ashampoo PowerUp 2000, , Ashampoo, www.ashampoo.com, Cydoor, , Confirmed

Ashampoo Uninstaller (2000), , Ashampoo, www.ashampoo.com, Cydoor, ,

Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2000, 2.+, Ashampoo, www.ashampoo.com, Cydoor, ,

Hi Shenan:

Thank you for a quick response,.... So, do you advice I should
remove just the UIwatcher.exe? or the complete UnInstaller?...
mine is a 2003 version, so it's not included in those you mention
but what are the facts.. are newer versions still including spyware
and was that code spybot ID'd as malignant code exactly that?..
should not updated Spybot also detect the Cydoor trojan as the
parasite writing the malignant code?..... Does this mean Ashampoo
CD Recording Suite 4 is safe to keep?... I have it installed and like
it well enough to pay for it, but I will follow your advice.

One more comment... Spybot has a few bugs checked in the ignored
category by default....
They are:
Name category

Side Step revision
My Search spybot
New.net spybot

Why would they be checked to be ignored by default?
I know I should uncheck them and I will,... but what do you comment on this?
Don't tell me Safer-Networking is also in the spy business!....

personally, I would uninstall the entire application if the company has a
history of including malicious code in their products. That's just my
opinion. I wouldn't trust them at all. If you paid money for the product,
I'd be screaming for a refund.

I tried ashampoo some time ago I don't remember exactly why I removed it
(I'm starting to get CRS) but it was invasive in some way.
