Application Event log errors

I've got XP Pro clients on a W2K domain, the DC running
AD, DNS and DHCP.

I can't find a reason for this. I'm not using Group
Policies other than the defaults.

Any ideas?? Thanks.

Chris,

Your XP box is a domain member, but the XP DFS client is turned off. See
Q314494 for the solution.

Hi Spencer,

I, too, had no DFS entry in the registry. Researched this
and found that if there's no entry it means that it is
already enabled. I tried adding the entry anyway and
enabling it, to be certain, but the event log errors
continue.

Stumped!

Thanks for this, but I've checked and DFS is enabled,
which I why I can't understand the errors.

I am experiencing the same thing. Have you found a
solution? Also the Keyword "DisableDFS" doesn't appear in
my registry under MUP. Therefore I can't check a 0 or 1
value. I know there have been lots of issues with the
implementation of MUP and DFS and I wonder if my versions
have been updated. I've been using AutoUpdate regularly.
Come on geniuses, help us out!

Thanks

If you can't find a registry entry for DFS, it means it
is already enabled.

Still stumped, therefore!

Ovidiu,
I have the same problem as Chris. 314494 is not the whole
solution. On the machines showing these errors, the
registry is already defaulted to the suggested
configuration. The errors now come and go, indicating
proper application of group policies sometimes. Does this
help to analyze the problem?
