Application defined or object defined error

I am linking Access database to a new SQL database and I do OK until I get to
Tools, Database Utilities, Linked Table Manager to updated the new link. I
keep getting the applicaton error or it will say that a particular table does
not exist but when I go to the other database it is there. I have no clue
how to fix! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP! I am thinking that this is hindering
the completion of the linking.

In the LTM, put a check in the box 'Always prompt for new location' (or
similar) at the bottom.

Thanks for your response but I did that and that is when I get the
errors...

I would delete the links in the frontend and recreate them, then.

Thank you again (I really appreciate this!)

But I have done that three times so far.

When I attempt to complete the LTM udpate, I get this error:

The MS Jet Database engine cannot find the input table or query "xxx". Make
sure it exists and the name is spelled correctly.

Have no idea what the Jet Databse engine is (very new to Access)...

What I suggested was that you not use LTM, but instead go to the Tables tab
and delete the links. Then use File, Get External Data, Linked Tables and
recreate the links anew.

Jet is the default database engine that Access uses.

Can the jet database be modified or corrected? Is there a way to auto correct
the jet database?

Thanks

It seems to be working. However, is there a way to select all of the tables
or multiple tables or will it be a one by one deal? And I am supposed to
delete the tables from the 'old' database rather than the 'new' one right?

Thanks

One at a time I'm afraid.

Umm.. you are supposed to delete the *links* in the frontend. ie. on the
tables tab you should see a black arrow next to the icon for the table -
that indicates it's a linked table. I don't know what you mean by 'old' vs
'new'. You do not want to delete the actual tables in the backend!! Just
delete the links in the frontend and recreate them.

I think I got it to working while I don't know what frontends and backends
are you have been most helpful.

A million Thank yous!
