Any way to log table updates?

Is there an accepted / standard / straightforward way to
log updates to the tables in the database? I don't see
anything in my handbooks . . .

The (temporary development) situation is that we have two
distributed local copies of the same database and would
like to keep them *sorta* in sync, at least with respect
to added records.

Thanks, Doug. I read it and it makes sense. (Sure would
be nice, though, if Access had all that built-in!)
