DVD2SVCD
http://www.dvd2dvd.org/
You will find this software to be the single most advanced software
to Encode your DVD, DVB, VOB, MPEG or AVI into DVD, SVCD
or VCD. All done with a couple of clicks with the mouse.
Perfect for both the beginner and advanced user.

Thanks for quick reply,

however, i found it very complicated to understand and there is no clear
indication to
to enable change .avi / mpeg to vcd.

the user interface is very hard to understand

thanks anyways,

If you have the CD/DVD writing/burning program called Nero
then you can let Nero make a VCD disc for you.

Not sure what you're after, but you'll find TONS of software hints
[freeware and shareware] at videohelp.com. Sounds like maybe you want
to make SVCD's? Meaning you don't have a DVD burner, only a CD burner?

One good, freeware product is DIVXTODVD [it does more than just DIVX].
You'll find it at:
http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm

Also, you need to do some analysis of the video files, to be sure
they'll play on your particular DVD machine. EG, being sure that you've
got a PAL and not an NTSC file. Also at VideoHelp you'll find video
file analyzers that can help you with that.

Another good site is afterdawn.com.

Lots of tips and guides [some very detailed] at both these sites to
help you.
