AntiSpyware breaks PrimalScript

Ferdinand Rios

I need to get in touch with some one on the AntiSpyware
development team. Since the introduction of the beta,
users of PrimalScript are complaining that one of
PrimalScript's features has stopped functioning properly.
Basically, PrimalScript installs an "Edit with
PrimalScript" function onto the context menu of several
different file extensions. This command launches
Primalscript with the selected file in its edit window.
Once you install MS AntiSpyware, selecting this option
causes the spyware blocker to appear (assuming "real-time
spyware threat protection" is enabled) and if you unblock
the actioin, the script is EXECUTED rather than passed
through to PrimalScript to edit. This can be a rather
serious security issue. We need to find out why this is
happening either on our side or Microsoft's side. Please
have a project manager or developer contact me via email
as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Please contact Microsoft via this link:

http://www.spynet.com/vendors.aspx

(it's a toss up--you could also try the false positve link which you can see
at the bottom of the left column.)

This forms purpose is for a vendor who views their product as improperly
described by Microsoft Antispyware--and your query definitely doesn't fit
that description.

However--this is probably still the best avenue for you to get in direct
contact with Microsoft about your issue.

FWIW, I believe that your issue is because of a known bug in Microsoft
Antispyware, and not anything to do with your product. Microsoft used to
have a scripting guys article describing this issue among others, but that
article is no longer available.

Get in touch via this contact form is the best advice I can give you.
