Annotating a Fax with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer

S

Shep

When using Microsoft Fax Console and creating a new fax
with the fax wizard, we have the opportunity to preview
the fax with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, at this
point we can also add annotations. My problem is these
annotations are not saved with the fax and therefore do
not show up on the fax. Any thoughts on what needs to be
done?

In addition, does anyone know how to back-up the various
folders (ie. in folder & sent folder) in the fax console
in case of a crash? Where are these files stored? In what
format are they?

thanks,

How are you sending the modified fax?

Faxes you have received are automatically archived in the Fax Console's
Inbox and faxes you have sent are archived in the Fax Console's Sent Items
Folder. You can easily access and save these folders from Windows Explorer.
The default location of these folders is:

<drive>:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
NT\MSFax\

Simply copy their contents (TIF files) into the same folder in a new
installation.

This is a round about of way of doing it. But if it is important you can try
this. When you are Previewing the fax, make teh Annotations and make them
permanent. And then save as another temporary tif file. Then you can open
this tif directly and Print to the Fax printer.
