Using a AVerDVD EZMaker PCI card on Windows xp home, 2Ghz computer.
Computer does not recognize camcorder connected to the card so I cannot
download video to the hard drive. How do I get Windows to recognize the
camera?
Thanks

Which software are you using to capture with?

I'm using neoDVDstandard (bundled with AVerDVD) or also MS Movie maker V
2.01. Both recognize the Digital camera thru fire wire but neither recognives
the analog Panasonic Camcorder model PV-iQ5250. Not sure if it the capture
program or Win XP Home not rcognizing the camera.
Hope this is clear. and thanks for the quick response.

The functioning firewire connection must be via another PCI card
as the Aver capture card only has S-video and composite inputs.
Have you checked in Device manager that the Aver card is recognised
and listed as without problems?

Yes, the fire wire connection is on a different card, and yes, Device Manager lists the Aver card (audio, video and crossover) I have checked the connecting wires for continuity and all seem OK
Thanks
