AMD 64 +3000 > AMD 64 X2 +4200: System seems slower

The Frozen Canuck

After flashing the bios, installing the new processor my system seems
slower. A benchmark on Doom 3 yields 40 FPS instead of the usual 46. I
notice much better multitasking though.

Is there anything I should look for in my system to rectify this? Using
CPU-Z everything looks fine as I can see.

you aren't going to run at that speed until you start Multi tasking...a
review stated that theX2 3800 in single application processing ran slower or
equal to an Athlon64 3000. That is why I bought the San Diego 3700 as
opposed to the 3800..I do not due enuff multi tasking to make it worth
while.It was not recommended to buy them for gaming purposes.

there is said that ATI is writing there next release 5.12 to take
advantage of duel core processing and nvidia to maybe. If you don't have
Windows Pro verison(for windows users) it won't matter anyway.
