agp440.sys

I am having problems with XP not booting past agp440.sys.

I have disabled the driver and it just stops at mup.sys and if you disable
that is stops at ndis.sys.

I need help to resolve this issue.

Thanks,
smitto

agp440.sys will be associated with video divers. mup.sys just happens
to be the last file normally loaded, so all that it indicates is that
something is going wrong in initialisation after that.

I would boot to Safe mode, after hitting F8 as the BIOS info goes to
black,. That will use base video, so agp440 trouble should not arise.
There install video drivers again - if need be use msconfig.exe,
boot.ini page to set /BASEVIDEO so you can reboot with only that
restriction, not the more comprehensive ones of SAfe mode and from that
download updated ones fro the maker's site.

If you cannot even get to Safe mode, the next thing is Set the BIOS to
boot CD before Hard Disk. Boot the XP CD and, instead of Setup, take
the immediate R for Repair. Assume any password requested is blank, and
TAB over. Give
CHKDSK /F C:
