adjust receive buffer size

I use pcpitstop.com on a regular basis to keep my system tuned up. The only
thing it returns as a minor problem is that they recommend I adjust receive
buffer size. They say its set to default & that might not be best for
performance & faster downloads. There is a way they recommend to adjust the
buffer size but it involves the registry. It looks fairly simple to do, but
should I even bother with it? My system works well now.

John,

The procedure for changing the receive buffer size is not actually that difficult, just make sure you backup the registry before attempting it.

I changed the size on my system but didn't really notice any difference, but then I'm on a 5mb cable connection.
