Adding more games to the Games folder?

L

Hi.

I've installed Windows Vista beta two, and have been very pleasantly
surprised so far.
Especially when I noticed my Half-Life 2 install was automatically added to
my games folder. I have question about it.

I read the Help/Support entry for it, and it said I could add a game to the
Games menu by dragging the executable file to the Games directory.

So I did, but the icon remained the same. No information was downloaded, and
I wasn't prompted to put in the information myself.

I'm trying to install Hitman: Blood Money which was released by Eidos about
three weeks ago.

Cheers,

Well, I wouldn't say this is a bug - but it really can't not help to let
them know )

I would say this definately is a bug.

The help system says that you can drag a program exe to the games folder and
you will be prompted to enter details about the game if Vista cannot find
details itself. This is essential for Parental Control to work as how else
would Vista know what rating the game has.

In addition, games dragged to the folder do not get listed under the games
list when you try to allow/restrict access to specific games.

If this does not work then the whole Parental Control function of Vista is a
non starter as kids can run any game that has no rating details.

I have the same problem with Prince of Persia (Warrior Within). I'm off to
log a bug report now. :)

had the same problem with testeq2.exe try to drag it to the games folder, but
all i get is a critical stop <bonk> did have an option to add it to my quick
start menu, which i did for the mean time. Everquest 2 seemed to run fairly
decently while it was in window mode on my computer, tho i did get some
stuttering if i tried to select outside the active screen area.
