Adding calendar invitation to an email

H

Hewston

Hello,

I would like to add a calendar invitation to an email, so users can add a
meeting to their calendar via a hyperlink type of setup.

I'm aware of the function to save a meeting as a .vcs file and attach that
to a message, however this does not allow for invitation tracking.

Is there a way a to add a link to an email which will put a meeting into a
recipient's calendar and send the tracking confirmation to me?

Many thanks,
Ewen.

What's wrong with using a Meeting request? It arrives in their Inbox as an
email. They Accept it and it goes onto their Calendar.

If that's not a solution for you, what part of your situation aren't you
telling us about?

Judy, I also have a need for sending a calendar/meeting invite as a
stand-alone URL link. We do much email blast promotion, and would like to
include a direct link to accept the meeting invite, in an effort to improve
attrition the day of the event by having a reminder setup in the attendees
calendar. We think this will improve attendance.
I was advised by LiveMeeting to research Outlook functionality, but as yet
have not found a way to create a URL link to a meeting invite.

The easiest way it to upload the meeting's *.ics file to a webserver and
send a link to that.

Worked great Diane, thank you! I now need to figure out how to hide the
Scheduling/Attendee content from those who accept the meeting. Would you be
able to offer some direction on that? Thanks vey much for the Outlook info
links...am checking for a solution there now.

There should not be any attendee info on the appointment (only the organizer
would see it) or you can use the resource field (it's the BCC field) for
them.

Use this method to create one meeting request and save/upload ot your
server. You need to invite at least one person, it can be yourself.
