ADD REMOVE PROGRAM LIST MISSING SINCE SP2 ?

After installing SP 2 (XP) my add remove programs list contains only about 5
programs. Under updates there are a few more listed but I have a hundred or
more missing programs. Some do not have unistall so you must use the
add/remove program tool. Now they are not listed so ?

How can I regain my complete list of installed programs?

Any Clues.
