After having installing Microsoft Office 2000 from a CD for some time now I
am having problem with access and frontpage.
Each time that I start my computer I have to go to detect and repair or
uninstall and install office to get them working and as of two days ago they
are not functioning. Need some advice on what to do? Word, Excel and
Powerpoint are working.
My island Grenada was devastated by hurricane Ivan on Setember 7, and have
just about get back my internet service that's why I could not have posted
before.

If a repair or R&R fixed it temporarily, but the problem kept coming back,
it doesn't sound as if the problem is Access. I would start with some basic
trouble shooting. Check for viruses and spy ware. Next, run a FULL disk
check, including a surface check to check for bad sectors on the hard drive.
Windows Registry corruption is also a possibility. There are two common
causes for this, bad memory and bad power. The first one can be hard to
track down. If you have more than one memory module, you may try removing
one and running on the other (if the single one is big enough) and see what
happens, then swap them and see again. The power problem is a little easier,
use a good UPS (battery backup) if the problem is with the commercial power.
If the problem is a bad power supply or one that is too small, replace it.
Be aware, that if any of the above is the problem, that things may have
gotten bad enough by this point that you may need to do a clean install of
Windows to get rid of the problems after you've fixed what is causing them.
