A "read receipt" from someone other than recipient?

Hi, I received a "Read Receipt" from someone other than the person I sent the
confidential message to. Recipient did not forward the original message.
The second receipt came from a person that was an IT administrator at their
company. Is that possible?

Yes, that's possible if they have mail routing to an additional mailbox.
