A problem with permission to use network resources in Windows XP

C

craigl

The error message:

\\craig is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find
out if you have access permissions.

The network path was not found.

I have set up a workgroup (home_office) between a desktop and laptop
using a Lynksys router. Both machines are running Win XP Pro. I set
up the desktop as the main computer. The laptop can access the
SharedDocs on Main Desktop, but the Desktop CANNOT access the
ShareDocs on Craig Laptop. When I click on the SharedDocs folder from
the Main Desktop, I get the above error message. What do I need to do
to change this situation?

Thank you for your support.

I have the exact same problem, and it's driving me nuts.
I have 4 computers on a home network; 2 running XP Pro, 2
running Home. All are in WORKGROUP. All have identical
accounts/passwords. Each has a problem accessing one or
more SharedDocs on others (but not all the same). E.g.,
A can see B and C but not D. B can see C and D but not
A. Etc.

Any ideas people?

Thanks
