A domain controller could not be found for the specified domain

I am trying to logon to my laptop and I have Novell Client
4.8 as I connect to my Novell File Server and also logon
to the domain. But, when I logon I get the error message

"A domain controller could not be found for the specified
domain"

The domain controller is working fine, and am not sure as
I am the admin for the PDC. What could be wrong?

check the IP and DNS settings on your laptop. Either
you're not in the same subnet as the PDC or else DNS
can't resolve the name.

This may be a stupid question, but do you have Client for Microsoft Networks
also installed and configured properly? I've never known a Novell client to
look for a PDC.

Under the advanced settings in the Netware client, is it pointing to the
correct domain? Or, if you are logging into the laptop offline, make sure
that the client is pointing to the laptop machine name in the field where
the domain is normally specified.
