Windows 2K WS acting as server on a LAN and as host for ICS with dial-up
connection to the Internet.

2 Windows XP laptops acting as clients sharing the internet connection and
an application on the server.

Will I be able to configure the free version of ZA to keep outside traffic
outside without preventing the rest of the network to function? The Win 2K
computer will be on line 8 hours a day.

Running ZA on the ICS machine should be possible. It's been awhile since
I've used ZA, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work after sorting
out the initial program and IP permissions.

No, Zone Alarm free edition does not support ICS, the full commercial
product does.

Kerio Personal Firewall (freeware) does support ICS but I don't like the
latest version, if you can try to find KPF 2.1.5

How 'bout that? That's the version ( kpf .1.5) that I keep on my USB drive
in case I'm asked to install a software firewall on someone's computer.
Great product. Newer version sucks.
