You do not have the neccessary permissions to use the ........object. Have
your SA or the person who created this object establish permissions for you.

Only problem is, I am the person who created it--but did this accidentally
by accidentally opening up the Security wizard and then instead of closing
the wizard I clicked Finish and then, not knowing how badly this would turn
out for me--closed that One Step Security Wizart Report--(I know now what I
did because I created a blank database and repeated what I must have done to
get this error message). So the question is, how do I get back into this
database? I have tried restoring to a previous version off of our back up
server and that doesn't seem to work. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Check in the folder where the mdb is; you should find a file with the same name as your mdb, but a bak extension.

Rename that to have a mdb extension - it is the unsecured copy of your mdb before the wizard did its deed.

Also the wizard may have created a desktop shortcut - you can delete that.

Try opening the renamed bak file. If that works, then you're back in business. If not, post back.

I am having a similar issue. I am running Access 2007 on a Vista system. I am
contastantly being prompted for a login when accessing any database from
several different locations. I found a .bak file and renamed it as suggested
however it did not stop the login prompting. This issue is isolated to my
system and is not affecting any other systems. Is there a cookie or temp file
somewhere that stores this login information? Any suggestions?

You are joined by default to some secure mdw file.

Open Access, and any mdb and hit Ctrl-G. Type the following in the immediate window
Docmd.RunCommand acCmdWorkgroupAdministrator

Then click on join and rejoin the system.mdw that ships with Access.

If that doesn't work for you, then use Start, Search and locate all *.mdw files on your computer. Rename every one that you find e.g.
system.mdw to system1.mdw
etc.
Then Open Access, you shouldn't be prompted for a login.

an error message a client was getting - Panic! got onto this discussion group
to try to find a solution to my mess up and there it was - all fixed.
Thankyou so much!

I am having this same problem (accidentally turned on the security wizard as
described!), and I also had trouble with the login prompt. I followed both of
these instructions. The Ctrl-G didn't work, and the mdb's I am using are on
the network, as far as I know the only .mdw is the one I accidentally created
( a search for .mdw on my local drive found nothing). I changed the one I
know is there, but I am still prompted for login no matter what db I try to
open. Any other ideas?
