Glad to hear it!
1) If you want to get to stuff w/o the password and account login simply set
public folder sharing to (Anyone with access can open change and create
files)
2) Turn off password protected sharing
This should automatically share all of the public folders w/o any further
need for defining access rights.
For other folders etc I believe one can simply define these rights in the
share properties
