About half of our 11 machines on a p2p n/w are using XP Pro whilst the
others (the trouble-some ones) are all on W98SE.

Hardware considerations apart, should we take them to XP Pro or W2K (both
about the same price) or can we economise and go with XP Home Edition?

Many TIA

In a p2p env you can go with home, however, if you ever decide to add a Win
2Kx server you'll need Professional.

One other reason to move to Pro from an admins point of view is Pro includes
the Remote Desktop Host where Home only has the client. It can be real nice
to use RDP to look at someone's desktop with out having to be right there in
front of the physical PC.

I would go to XP Pro if I were you.

Thanks for the advice.
Could you though just clarify one point regarding the RDP aspect - if the
XP home edition only has client can the admin's PC still use RDP provided
_it_ has Pro?
Again mny tks
