Hi,

Everything about my upgarde seems to be fine except now my
modem doens't work. It's a Compac laptop with a Compac
Presario 56K-DF modem. While it's recognized as there, it
say's "not functional", and with a bit more investigating
it says "firmware of device didn't receive resources."

After my install (during reboot)the modem was working
because my aol IM started up and at that point, I closed
IM out as the restart continued. From that point out my
internet (connection) button didn't work nor other
connection types. Any thought? Very frustrated.

Make sure you have the latest Windows XP drivers for that modem.
Get the driver from Compaq.
