I set the wrong configuration for my monitor so
that "invalid scan frequency" appears.
To correct this I usually go into Safe mode however
loading stops when loading drivers so cannot get in
This also happens with all other options from F8
As usual Microsoft are no help or don't understand
problem. What's new!!
If anyone can advise I would appreciate it.

As I was typing this my 4 year old son said "Daddy, why doesn't he change the monitor frequency back by using the monitor adjustments or take it to a shop where people know what there doing?".

I just sat there and ***smiled***.
