XP SP2 samba printer delay

Since SP2 when I print it take's 10-15 seconds for windows to connect to a
LAN printer being served by a linux print server. Take the SP2 off and the
delay goes
away. Looks like I'm getting alot of samba requests that finially timeout
then and printing continues.
