I had set my system to use automatic upgrades. It started to down load some
upgrade ( don't know which) and it seemed very slow. I am on broadband and
even running my pc online overnight the download had only reached 4%!!
I have turned off automatic upgrading until somebody can tell me what is
going on

Brian;
You were probably downloading Service Pack 1 which can be anywhere
from about 20 mb to 200 mb depending how up to date your computer is.

If I was, I should not have. I already have SP1 installed.
The number of weirdos happening on my PC since XP Pro is beginning to make
wish that I had not moved away from win200 pro!
