ok, here goes...
we have a small network of computers (30) running XP Pro that are split between two workgroups, A and B (for instance) we need to stop group B from deleting/moving any files on group A, however B still need to access/edit certian files on group A.

we also have the same problem within group A, i.e we dont want certain computers to access other computers, though we need 2 of our computers to be able to access everything

does anyone have any ideas?
thanks very much )

use permissions in XP you will have to set this up manually in all the systems since this is a workgroup environment. It wud be much easier if you have one system as a server , like windows 2003 .Then the setting of permissions and rights about who can access what can be controlled centrally in one system.
you can see more in

Cheers
