Hi,
I have Windows XP Home Edition - German version in my laptop.
I would like to upgrade the OS to Windows XP Professional Edition - English.

After starting the laptop on XP home, Shall I just put XP professional CD in
the drive and start installation, to overwrite XP home...or... Shall I boot
the laptop with XP professional CD and start overwriting XP home ( No
formating)...or..Shall I format the C drive and do fresh XP professional
installation.

Please suggest me which one of the above methods is recommended.

Thanks
Kumaran

Hi Kumaran,

You cannot do an upgrade from one language version to a different language
version, so you'll have to perform a clean install of XP Pro English
edition.

Greetings --

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS
to another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of
English WinXP to perform a clean installation.
