Is it possible to write back to user defined fields in BCM using SQL?

We would like to be able to track our e-mail marketing campaign stage by
writing a value to a user defined field within an account. We are unable to
find the table containing the value for our user defined field. All we can
find is its field name and data type in dbo.UserFieldDefinitions.
