Would you use One Anti-Virus program that does it all ... as apposed to installing an infinite number of programs.

On today's Windows, even Vista, you need to install an AV program ... you also need to install other "protection" as most AV programs cannot effectively deal with Trojans & Worms. Not to mention Malware, Spyware, scams, spammers and other nasties.

Oh, and not forgetting you need a Firewall as your first line of defence.

Simple question ... yes or no.

Thats kinda my thinking too.
I wouldn't want to trust my security to one company, eg Microsoft.

Another no here, I don't think that there is an all-in-one that can do the best job at the moment. There are a few around from Norton etc... but I don't really trust them as much. Better than nothing for the novice user I suppose though!

Symantec and McAfee are both getting close..
But - Separate Applications/Services seem, in my mind, to be easier to configure/manipulate.

ah, this is what I'm looking for ... Out of the box, I don't have to know how it works, just work and don't annoy me, 'novice' users.

Even people that "know" get caught.

If it was any good and covered everything, I'd consider it, so my answer is yes.

It would have to be the right price though.

Antivir Personal Premium edition offers virus protection, e-mail scanning and Adware protection for 20 Euros a year (£13.50) which, if the Adware side of it works well, isn't bad at all.

... 'cos it really does amaze me how many people;
a) do not know
b) think they are clever and do not use an AV with Windows
c) just dumb enough to tick answer 4 anyway

Your's is the sort of answer I am looking for ... you thought about the question, despite what you know, you would be interested in a "do-it-all" especially if it works.

F-Secure Internet Security also has some impressive 'features' but, some annoyances also.

Software Firewall,
Anti-virus,
Anti-Spyware, Malware stopper,
Internet messenger security,
Email protection.

I already use an All-in-one product....Have done for the last 2 years...
