Word cannot find the grammar file msgr??32.dll for .
Word cannot find the spelling file MSSpell3.dl or mms32.dll for.
The spelling file exists!

This problem just came now! Maybe I deleted something critical doing a
virus or pest check?

Or another option is to use Office's Detect and Repair facility and see if it
fixes the problem--then re-install if that doesn't work.

Detect and Repair Office product:
1. Open any Office application (in your case, Word)
2. On the Help menu, click Detect and Repair. Be prepared to provide
original CD.
3. Follow prompts and let Office do its thing.
4. Test to see if this works.
5. Re-install if it doesn't.

Try a System Restore first before reinstalling Word to the day before you
did the virus check. You can go back up to 90 days.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
--
XP - WNP
Today is the first day of the
rest of your life.

I reinstalled Word. Same problem. I can live with this, I guess. Or shall I
uninstall Word and install it?

The problem exists only when I open a file that contains endnotes.
