Have several videos created with MM2 and saved as 'WMV
files, but in Wdws Media Player, the file is played as
an 'audio' file. Sound is fine, but no video. For some
reason, WMP not recognizing 'WMV as a video.

Created under WinXP Home with MM2 and playback on WMP 8.0.

Ideas?

When a player needs a codec for the newer movie, it goes to a Microsoft
website and gets it - automatically and in the background

That would mean that the player didn't automatically get the newer codec
needed. Was the computer online at the time? It would need to be.
