Wireless setup

Two desktops next to each other wired to Linksys BEFSR41 router
connected to DSL router. Wish to add wireless router (WRT55AG) to
include new Dell Inspiron 2200 to network. I have run CAT5 from open
port in BEFSR41 to LAN connection in WRT55AG but cannot connect. Is
this setup viable? I know I might have some more laptop setup to do but
will this setup work the way it is? I eventually want to move the
WRT54AG away from the desktops to a more optimal location in the house.
