"Wireless Connection Unavailable" after Windows Updates

On a freshly installed Windows XP Pro system, I
installed, and had working, a Dell PCI Wireless Adapter
(802.11b) and it was working fine.

After doing "Windows Updates", It no longer connects to
this "unsecure" (no WEP etc.) network, and when I check
the box to allow me to connect anyway, it acts like it
will connect, but then simply goes back to "One or more
wireless connections available" without connecting to
it. As a temporary workaround, I've got a 100 foot Cat-5
cable strung around the edge of the house, but my room-
mates aren't happy with it.

Anyone know a resolution to this problem?

Hi,

Please do a rollback of the driver.
1. Click Start -> click Run
2. Type "sysdm.cpl" (without quotes)
3. Select the Hardware tab and click the Device Manger button
4. Select the Network adapter and then right mouse click then select
Properties
5. Select the Driver tab
6. Click the Roll back Driver button to rollback.

Hope this helps ......
