When using my windows xp pro laptop to access a domain's
windows 2000 print server, my account is locked out if I
try to access the printer. I am not logged into the
domain, but am connecting to a shared drive "as a
different user" at the same time I am trying to connect.
This connection goes through without a hitch until I
attempt to access the shared printer. I speak with the
server admin who promptly removes the lock-out (no I am
not typing in my password three times wrong, its on the
first attemp which doesn't even ask me for a password, it
apparently uses the saved one) and it will again lock me
out immediately. Any ideas why the printer doesn't like
me, but the shared drive on the same domain does?
