Windows Xp Media Center Edition 2004 is my operating system and is updated w/
SP2. I am having extreme difficulty with installing Windows Media Player 11
as it is not compatible with any media center editions previous to 2005.
Without this program I am unable to take full advantage of having photos,
music, and video stream to my PS3 which is networked to my PC. In order to do
so you have to update to Media Player 11 hence the catch 22. I do not have
any extra $$$ to call Microsoft's support line and basically am stuck until I
can either update my operating system to media center edition 2005 or higher.
Please help!!!!!!!!!

Help with what? We can't make WMP11 compatible with an OS it's not
compatible with, you'll either have to live without it or purchase and
install 2005 (requires a format).

I understand that I need an upgrade to Winows XP Media Center Edition 2005,
where can this be found as Microsoft has passed the buck and does not offer
any options to upgrade OS. I just think that Micrososft left those who were
first to use Media Center Editions with no alternative other than purchasing
another PC, and with this kind of help think I'll avoid Micrososft
altopgether in the future.

Media Center was never available as a retail product or an upgrade (except
buy certain OEMs), I don't see how MS passed any buck with it.

As far as purchasing, it took me about 7 seconds to find it.
