windows xp home edititon - setup error

Help!!!! I have a compaq windows xp system. My system crashed and I had XP2
installed . As a last resort, I had to go to system recovery to get my system
up and running again. I had a system setup error and tried to install XP2 and
got a set up error, cannot read from or write to the database. Can someone
please help. Thank you in advance.
