That's like telling your doctor that you are feeling a little ill, what's
the problem. It could be many things. What were you doing at the time? Is
this all the time or random? It could be a memory problem. If it happens
while you are using an app, the app could be incompatible with XP. It could
be a driver problem. You need to be more specific when you pose a question
to the group.

This thing happens to me as well!

I have tried to turn off everything with msconfig, and turn off every visual effect. Now the computer looks like Windows 3.11 but XP is still hanging, even without a program running.

I think I found the solution

I removed (uninstalled) the following patches, Q317277, Q811493 and KB824146
After this my computer has not froze a single time
