I am trying to setup a peer to peer network connected with
Cat5 through a hub. I can see my three XP computers
through network but not the Windows 2000 Pro
workstations. Are there directions on how to have these
two operating systems see each other? I have gone through
the home networking wizard and have tried to use the XP CD
on the Windows 2000 workstation to run the network setup
on there but it does not run the wizard. Windows 2000 pro
is not a choice.

I had the same problem before. What I did is make sure
you are in the same workgroup and if you have a firewall,
make sure you allow the ports (445, 139)through. Try to
search via IP address also.

Greetings Jodi,

The Network Setup Wizard doesn't work on computers running Windows 2000. You
must setup the network manually. Make sure the XP's firewall is disabled. It
blocks file and printer sharing by default. If you installed a third party
firewall, make sure it is properly configured for the local area network.
Ensure NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all machines. Try accessing the
network and shares this way. Click Start, Run, and type one of the following
commands:

\\computer

\\computer\share

\\IP-address

\\IP-address\share
