Windows XP to 2000 DVD

I have had a new laptop at work and IT took XP off and put
2000 on. Now the DVD does not work because 2000 does not
support it. Can anyone help please.

Do you mean doesn't work as in doesn't
read discs at all or doesn't work as in doesn't play movies?

If the latter, get your wallet out and go buy a DVD
software decoder.

If the former, go pound your IT folks and get them to fix it.
