I have been trying over the last month or so to apply
this critical update. I can apply everything else one at
a time but when I get this little swine it buggers around
with the boot sequence and sends my machine into an
endless boot cycle. The only way out is to restore to the
last good boot configuration by pressing F8.

Anybody got a solution? If it really is critcal that I
apply the patch then at least Microsoft would have the
decency to make it owrk before releasing it.

Thanks

Chris

It is not really needed by most users. Read the info provided and decide for
yourself.

Chances it it you don't need the patch. Check the info on MS's
technet site for detaisl to determine if that's the case.

Also, if you apply the 811493 and your computer goes into an endless
loop then it might be time so check your installation for other
problems. Seems there may be on or more serious issues to tackle on
your Windows installation, but the problems are, luckily for you, not
triggering.
