I am not saying it IS your fault.
I am saying many people, such as myself, use Movie Maker successfully every
day without problem so how can you say Microsoft created a bad product if
millions of people work with it all the time.

And what happened? This newsgroup is here to try to help solve problems so
without information as to what the problem is as opposed to simply blaming
Microsoft and assuming the product must be crap if your having a problem how
exactly can we do that?

A leaky pen causes damage to the shirt you put it in. Movie Maker not
working properly doesn't cause your clothes any damage. I have to say this
is the first time I have had this discussion.

It works with most AVI files and with all WMV files I have ever come across.
It does generally work with MPEG1 files although I still don't like the
randomality (not a word I know) of MPEG's.
Yes better compatibility would be nice but that we learn to deal with when
talking about free, and yes it is free, software.
