Is this unique? I have been unable to encounter someone with the same problem
and its driving me nuts!! I commenced using a new laptop with pre installed
vista.
Everything fine except...when i create new mail the send recieve function
blocks up.I n order to send recieve I have to exit and restart the mail
program. Then its fine...until I create new mail!! After seeing from many
forums that Norton causes problems I uninstalled it (it came bundled with the
vista!) and voila the problem went. However I then decided to transfer files
from my old computer including the mail folders and bangthe
problemresurfaces. I cannot use manual send recieve without having to exit
the program.All other features work fine its just very annoying having to
restart the program constantly. I had Norton on my old computer but it was
uninstalled.I would be very grateful for any help.

It's a good idea to delete and recreate your email account
after Norton is uninstalled.

I have this same problem. On the odd occasion I can click the send and
receive button and it might work but all other times I have to close and
re-open again.

I also have a problem whereby all messages disappear and I get 'folder could
not be displayed due to low memory or disk space' neither of which is true as
brand new laptop with loads of disk space and memory.

Thinking going back to outlook a much better idea

First clear off any non compatible software such as
Norton or McAfee anti-virus software
(and any other preinstalled crapware that you don't need.)

Its great to know that I am not alone! However deleting account has not made
the slightest difference.It must be some kind of bug in the program which is
sensitive to some kind of program which co exists. If some one knows of an
effective way of stripping the system to the bone without damaging the system
I would appreciate knowing.Otherwise I think I am going to have to resign
myself to constantlyrestarting mail!! Thanks

The least disruptive way to fix this is to upgrade to WLM.
Microsoft has indicated that WLM will be the replacement for WM.

I have the same problem, driving me nuts does anyone know if Microsoft have a
fix for this problem/

I do not have any problem with Window Mail at home using my own router which
I setup with my Verizon incoming and outgoing servers. But when on travel
using other unsecured wireless routers, it keeps giving me error message
telling me something is wrong with incoming server (don't remember the exact
message.) I called my Verizon rep and he told me Window Vista had many
these type of issues and he did not know how to fix it either. Any clue how
to fix this would be highly appreciated.

Are you sure the problem while in travel status is with incoming
mail rather than when sending? The latter is much more common.

It's impossible for me to diagnose the problem when you don't
recall the exact error message.
