I don't think anybody here has had your experience of downloading
6000+ emails! By default, WM deletes emails from the server, once it
finishes downloading. The possibility exists that the download did not
finish.
I assume you can access your sbcglobal.net server via webmail?
If so, move most, if not all, of those 6000 emails into some folder
other than the webmail inbox. POP clients like Windows Mail will
only download what's in the server's inbox folder.
