I am the only user and using XP Home. Is there a way to bypass the start
screen where I have to click my user name? I don't have any passwords and
when my PC has to restart it always comes up to the starting screen. I
sometimes use remote access to this PC (through Go to My PC) and can't get
to it if the start screen is up.

Thank you in advance.

Diane

Hi

Download TweakUI from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx and
when installed go to Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI - then go to
Logon>Autologon

Dianne,
you can accomplish this without additional software.
go to control panel->users and remove your password if any.
then deselect "use the welcome screen" checkbox.
windows xp will come right up onto your desktop.
