I have installed Windows Live Mail. I have chosen it to be my default
mailbox. Can I delete Windows Mail??

Windows Mail can't cause your system to freeze if it doesn't run.
Are you doing something to cause it to run?
Once you switch to WLM, WM should remain dormant.
